More Than 40 Have Been Baptized

A Newsletter from Tore and his family and ministry, working among people groups from Myanmar.

After three great weeks in Norway I, Tore, am back in Thailand. It is in the peak of the rainy season in Thailand now, so it was very hot and humid coming back, but it was also good to be with my family again, and our ministry out here.

There is a lot that I could have included in this newsletter, but I have chosen to just include certain highlights, testimonies and a short summary, such as: More than 40 people have been baptized in our ministry during the last two years (and that is not an exaggeration).
I post more stories, updates and photos on our Facebook Page, so feel free to like it!

Towards the end of the newsletter, I will also mention a couple of important things about financial support, such as: You are involved, or can be involved, in what God is doing out here in South East Asia, even if it is only by small amounts or in prayer!

See also a short video of the email.

Do We Have Two Natures? Identity Confusion

Many Christians are often a bit confused about whether we as Christians have two natures.
Some people teach that we have one nature before we became a Christian, and when we are born again we got another, new nature.
This new nature is in conflict with the old one, and often we can still feel that the old nature is most dominant. The solution some preachers give is that you have to feed the good side of yourself, the new nature, so that the old one does not take over again. But that’s a lot of work.

I think this theology is not a good one, because it makes us fall under fear again!
What if I don’t feed the new nature enough? And are there any of us who can feed it enough?
I would argue that this way of thinking makes many Christians live in constant condemnation, and I was one of them.

She Experienced the Power of The Holy Spirit

A Newsletter from Tore and his family and ministry, working among people groups from Myanmar.

In the end of May and the beginning of June it can be challenging to be in Thailand 🇹🇭. It is the start of the rainy season, but it can also be very hot, up to 40 degrees Celsius. The showers that come only make it more humid, so the humidity can be very high at times.
We were encouraging a Christian family one evening, but they had no fan in their house and it felt a bit like a sauna in there. I was soaked when we got out.
I am very grateful for air conditioning in our own house, not many of the people we work with have that.

Since our newsletter in mid-April, four people have accepted Jesus and seven people have been baptized!

This newsletter will be about a woman who experienced the power of The Holy Spirit, baptisms again, a new Christian who received a Bible and he also had a dream etc.

I have also made a new video from the ministry. See video further down in this email!

It’s Because of Love

I do a ministry in northern Thailand, and here we run a Saturday school. One Saturday when we had over 60 children, I was quite tired after four hours of driving, pick up and send all the children back home and to teach English for four hours. I started and reflected on this: Why did I have a feeling of contentment and joy?

For almost 20 years ago, when I started to think about going to another country to share the Good News. I was not thinking about doing children’s ministry. I had pictured it a bit different life?
I didn’t see myself as a English teacher, or a driver. That was the least thing I was thinking off.
I was reflecting over this and wonder why do I still have such a joy doing this? I could have chosen a much easier life, so why did I choose this?

Healing, Sixty Children and a Team

Newsletter from Tore and his family working in
Northern Thailand among the Shan people from Myanmar

We are still waiting for some colder weather here in Northern Thailand. We are in tropical regions, but it can still be relatively cold here around Christmas. The temperature in the north can drop to 8 degrees Celsius in the morning and there can be frost in the mountains around us. Because it’s a little colder, I often get a bit of a Christmas feeling around Christmas anyway, even if it’s not snowy and dark like in Norway.

I will mention several things in this newsletter, but two highlights are the story of Pi Wii who has been miraculously healed and the woman with an illness who got an experience of God’s love.

Don’t Forget Hope!

Just sharing from my heart about not to forget hope. This is both for ourselves and others. I have a challenge in this video on how you can give hope to others (and no it’s not about money)

This video is almost live, I have not edited it, just recorded and uploaded it.

Bitten By a Snake and Four New Baptisms

Newsletter from Tore and his family working in
Northern Thailand among the Shan people from Myanmar

Here is a newsletter from a hotter and wetter parts of the world. It has rained more than normal during the rainy season this year, and there have been floods in several places, but it should be the end of the rainy season in the beginning of next month, and we hope it will rain less soon.

A lot has happened since I returned to Thailand in end of August, and it has been a busy time. It has taken me over a week to write this newsletter.

In this newsletter you can read about: Four baptisms and more have become Christians again, a constant growth in the ministry and about a poisonous snake.

I had a very good time in Norway in August and I want to say a some about in this newsletter as well.

Read more about this in our newsletter.

When is God Pleased?

When is God pleased and satisfied with us? Many Christians struggle with this question.

I had a quiz on my website for a while back, and one of the questions I had was: When do we please God? I was amazed how many people wrote: It is when I pray, don’t do any sins, sing worship songs, do evangelism, lead someone to Jesus and so on.

The focus was on what we need to do, but what is it that really satisfies God?

I have good news for you today, your worth is not connected to what we do, but who we are (read also more text under!).

What does God require?

What does God require? Or what does he desire most of all?
Is it our nice works or behavior? Is it our devotion to him or how much we pray?

My question is this: Do we live under the law or grace? If we live under grace what is the requirement? Get the answer in this message!
