I can actually tell you my answer right away: You can’t!
When you hear this answer and statement, you may think: You must be a Bible teacher who says that it is perfectly fine to sin and we can sin as much as we want without any consequences.
Can I tell you one thing: There is no place in the Bible where it says you can loose your salvation in the same way that you might lose your wallet, for example. Salvation is not something you suddenly loose, like doing a sin or falling into a sin.
One of the biggest fears many Christians have is if they have done the unpardonable sin and loose their salvation. It could be anything from lying, or sleeping with their girlfriend, got drunk at a party or being angry with God and saying a swear word to him. Or they may even think they are not forgiven and rejected by God (lost their salvation) until they have pleaded forgiveness for a sin they have done, even several years back.
Do I say with this that it’s OK to sin then? NO by no means! Sin is an enemy and it will trick you and it has negative consequences for you and others, but you do not lose salvation when you sin.
But does it mean that when I became a Christian I was guaranteed a place in heaven anyway? Am I once saved, always saved?
Newsletter from Tore and his family working in Northern Thailand among the Shan people from Myanmar
Sometimes I wonder if we have had angels on visits? We had a special experience one evening this month when we were out ministering her in Nothern-Thailand. Read more of this story in the newsletter under!
Many have the image that to be a good Christian is related to surrender, relinquish and give up everything including joy, and everything that feels good is bad or a sin. I must say that in the first 20 years of my life I was actually not sure of whether God wanted me to be happy or not, that I should feel happiness.
There was some talk about suffering for God, and give up things for God. I thought it was very spiritual to not be happy. For instants, I thought it was very spiritual to cry. I assumed that diseases and depression was a part of suffering as a Christian, and that the condemnation and guilt was something that a Christian should have. But I was wrong!
What does the Bible really say about emotion? Are emotions something that is negative or positive? Does God want me to be happy? How can I control my emotions? What connection is there between feelings and fears?
Emotions can be our best friend or our worst enemy. In this teaching, I will give you some truths about feelings and emotions that can help you to manage them in a correct and good way, and how you can feel the way that God wants you to feel.
What I want with this teaching is to show you that the emotions are there and they are given to you by God. You can either lie or ignore them, or you can learn to do something with them. When we understand why God has given us emotions and we can use them properly, we can apply them in a good way.
If I can learn how to handle my emotions, I can also deal with life and what comes my way.It is one thing that is certain about emotion: We all have them. But unfortunately there are times when the emotions have us. It is when the emotions have us that they become a problem.
This is something I have on my heart to share in this difficult time we have in our world right now.
Is God Judging This World?
In connection with the Corona Virus that is currently sweeping this world, I have heard people quote scriptures and say that this is God who is angry and it is his punishment for the world and its sin. Not everyone says this directly, but some still believe that it is God who sent it and stands behind it. If the corona virus is a punishment or as a result of God’s wrath, Jesus would have died in vain.
Many Christians often pray this prayer: God use me! I myself have prayed this prayer, especially when I were in my teens.
One of the reasons was that I were afraid that I could not be used for anything, and I attached my identity to what I could do and to be used for.
I have one year and 3 months old daughter (when I write this) and I love her over all on this earth. But my thoughts are not this: What can I use my daughter for, or what can she do for me? Had I been thinking so, I would have been a selfish, self-seeking and evil father.
